An example for tht was today ....
A had to get 2 packets of BIRYANI but then i took home 1 packet FRIED RICE and 1 packet BIRYANI cos i reasoned i wud bring in more happiness. HOW ???
Proof:
Considering the fact that eating will give happiness( as i was supposed to bring it for lunch)
then we consider that we get happiness either by Eating FRIED RICE alone or Eating BIRYANI alone or Eating both BIRYANI and FRIED RICE
Thus P(happiness) = P(FRIED RICE ALONE) + P(BIRYANI ALONE)+P(BOTH)
= 1-P(NOT LIKING ANY OF THE TWO)= 1-(1/4) ------- (1)
=3/4
=75%
So for a case when i bring 2 packets of BIRYANI or 2 FRIED RICE....
P(happiness)= P(2 packets of FRIED RICE)
=1/4 -------(2)
=25%
Thus we can see that we can be 3 times more happy just by one change in the order.
CHEERS!!
>>> Results remain same for non-veg to veg <<<<<<
References:
(1) P(not liking any of the two)
= no.of favorable cases / Tt. no of cases
= Not hating both/Tt. cases
{Tt. cases= liking fried rice+liking biryani+liking both+not liking any}
= 1/{1+1+1+1}
=1/4
(2) P( 2 packets of biryani) =P(2 packets of fried rice)= 1/2
(Since u can either like or dislike and not both at once )
